The Trip of a Lifetime:
A Safari Adventure in Tanzania
14-Day Luxury Northern Circuit Safari & Great Migration
August 9-22, 2026
with Karen Score
We aren’t exaggerating when we say that an African safari is THE trip of a lifetime! It’s a truly incredible experience where each day seems even more remarkable than the last. You’ll be completely awestruck as you gaze across the infinite expanse of the Serengeti plains and witness an astonishing variety of wildlife—often just feet away from your safari vehicle!
Why Tanzania?
Tanzania is known as the greatest wildlife destination on the planet, home to some of Africa’s largest and most iconic national parks, as well as some of the most varied and unique landscapes you’ll ever see.
A safari in Tanzania offers unparalleled wildlife experiences, with the largest concentration and diversity of animals in Africa. It is here that you can see The Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and witness the Great Migration in the most legendary and spectacular Serengeti National Park!
A Journey You Won’t Forget
We begin our adventure together in Arusha, the starting point for Northern Circuit Safaris. It is here that we gather our group and spend our first night in Africa, staying in gorgeous, welcoming accommodations with beautiful gardens, spacious rooms, a refreshing swimming pool, and a spa—the perfect way to get grounded after a long flight!
Then the real adventure begins… Off we go on our African safari, with our first stop being Tarangire National Park, a land of big Baobab trees, big cats, and big elephants! Within these savannah plains, river woodlands, and rocky hills, sightings of giraffes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, baboons, monkeys, and lions are almost guaranteed. Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s largest lion populations, and while cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, we might just get lucky!
Have you always wanted to stay in a treehouse? Well then, you’re in luck! A luxurious lodge up in the treetops will be your home for 2 nights. Maybe you’ll be fortunate enough to get a close-up view of a giraffe—you never know!
Lake Manyara National Park is next on our route. Within the dense forest of this park, you may see lions draped over the branches of trees (this is the only place where they tend to climb trees) or an elephant using a convenient tree branch to scratch its back. Oh, and there are A LOT of baboons here!
Our accommodations for two nights will be on the shore of this very large lake, which is home to several hippos. Maybe you’ll spot one or two as you lounge by the pool in your villa. Just remember to keep your distance—that’s important!
Days 6 and 7 will be spent in Serengeti National Park, the earliest recorded World Heritage Site, with a unique ecosystem providing insight into the dynamic functions of the natural world. The tremendous stretch of land making up Serengeti National Park is stunning, with its extraordinary skies of astonishing colors and the sensation of not knowing what you’ll spot next. With over 7,500 hyenas, 3,000 lions, 250 cheetahs, along with quiet, giant elephants, and so much more, every moment holds the potential for something magical to unfold—whether it’s a thrilling hunt or an awe-inspiring animal encounter… all necessary for the “Circle of Life” in this biological ecosystem.
A luxurious “Hobbit House” will be your home for the two nights we’re in the Central Serengeti. And the most exciting part about being here is that you’ll have the opportunity to go on a Hot Air Balloon Safari at sunrise (optional, of course—but absolutely worth it!).
On our 8th day of safari, we will head farther north in the Serengeti, where thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles gather during their Great Migration in August. While the exact time they all choose to cross the Mara River in one thunderous herd (with hungry crocodiles waiting for them) can’t be predicted, hopefully, we’ll be fortunate enough to witness that remarkable sight.
We’ll spend two nights here, so we’ll increase our chances of seeing the river crossing. We will be “glamping” here—in very luxurious tented lodges that are incredible!
Our day 10 game drive will take us back through a different region of the Central Serengeti, where we’ll stay for one night at another premier luxury safari lodge.
Next, we’re off to the Ngorongoro Highlands, situated on the Eastern Great Rift Valley, within the designated Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which protects the land and the traditional Maasai way of life within it. These beautiful highlands roll around the Ngorongoro Crater and offer an incredible view into the impressive expanse of the crater itself—which, honestly, is mind-blowing! While here, we will have the opportunity to visit a Maasai village and learn about their customs, traditions, and way of life.
On the following day, we’ll take the steep road down into the Ngorongoro Crater—said to be the jewel in Tanzania’s crown. Thought to be the result of a volcanic eruption about two to three million years ago, causing it to collapse on itself and create the largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera in the world! It is 2,000 feet deep and its floor covers 100 square miles. This fertile valley is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife destinations in the world. The enclosed nature of the crater has created an ecosystem all its own, resulting in some of the best opportunities in the world to spot lions, buffalo, elephants, leopards, zebras, cheetahs, along with ostriches, gazelles, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and even the endangered black rhino.
The last two nights will be spent in Karatu, which is nearby the crater, so there will also be time to relax by the pool or walk through the gardens, allowing you to reflect on the breathtaking and jaw-dropping memories of your safari experience. Take some time for yourself to internalize the feeling of pure soulful joy and savor it before heading back home.
We sincerely can’t wait to share this incredible adventure with you. Based on our own past experiences, we can absolutely say for certain that you’ll be in awe every single day of this safari journey.
Now that you know more about Tanzania and why we’ve chosen this special land as a Grace in Nature destination, it’s our sincere hope that you’ll consider joining us on this trip of a lifetime! You’ll be happy you did!

"I was reluctant to go on safari, but I’m so glad I decided to go. The trip was fantastic, and we were lucky to experience Karen’s vision for a safari expedition that truly delivered. The guides, all four of them, were beyond competent—they were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and we felt safe in their hands the entire time.
The safari exceeded all my expectations. Seeing all of the animals of the Serengeti up close truly “blew my mind!” Plus, the people we interacted with in Tanzania were lovely, friendly, and welcoming.
Of course, the accommodations were superb—luxury and beauty at every stop throughout the excursion. If given the chance, don’t hesitate to go on Karen’s next trip to Africa.
With great appreciation for this opportunity to experience such a life-enriching journey, I thank Karen."

"My recent African Safari trip with Grace in Nature was the trip of a lifetime. Grace in Nature partnered with the unbeatable Lion King Adventures to deliver a week of wild safaris through numerous Tanzanian National Parks, filled with sightings of every animal you could imagine—up close, in the bush.
Endless exciting sightings of elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, male and female lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, black rhinos, jackals, hyenas, baboons, and numerous wild birds, just to name a few, in their natural habitat, were breathtaking.
Complete with outstanding lodging, delicious meals three times a day, and an amazing sunrise balloon ride over the Serengeti, this trip was a dream come true. It should be on anyone’s bucket list who dreams of a safe and fantastic safari adventure."

“I recently took part in the Grace in Nature retreat to Tanzania, and I found my experience to be both powerful and deeply personal. This trip was a safari, and when one understands that "safari" (Swahili) translates to "journey," a better understanding of this retreat ensues.
For me, this journey explored parts of the rich and diverse land of Tanzania. The unique offerings of this country can be appreciated through the welcoming spirit of the people and the pleasant smiles received every day. The genuine, positive greetings reflect a national pride and goodwill toward travelers. I could not have imagined such welcoming hosts.
As we traveled through the savanna and other biomes, we witnessed a rich diversity of animals in close proximity. Every day of this journey was a new and exciting adventure. Our guides were caring, knowledgeable, engaging, and professional. They became a welcome addition to our everyday experience.
The vast landscape held a variety of both plants and animals. Feeling an Acacia tree’s thorns up close adds to the perplexity of how a giraffe eats the tree's leaves. When I saw wildebeests as far as I could see over the horizon, and then watched them move across the grassland, I began to understand the breadth of the Serengeti.
After traveling through the parks, there was always a comfortable respite to relax, reflect on the day, and recharge for the next tour the following day. For me, I am continually in awe of what I witnessed. It is not about the destination of Tanzania but the journey through the experience. This was an adventure of a lifetime!!”
